The new MLS Listing Service will provide the seller with an official property listing in the NWA MLS. In addition, the seller will have access to a number of professional real estate marketing tools to help them market the property and expedite their home sale.

The benefits of adding an MLS listing to a FSBO strategy provides the home seller the best of both worlds in selling their home; the freedom and cost benefits associated with being their own listing agent AND the benefit of having access to professional tools, typically only available to licensed real estate agents.

Traditional FSBO Disadvantages

Half the battle of selling a home lies in being able to effectively market the home to prospective buyers. Without a MLS Listing, this presents quite a challenge for the FSBO seller.  A common drawback with the FSBO method is the seller often lacks the real estate marketing tools needed to make buyers aware of the sale. Because only a small group of people know the property is for sale, this often results in a very slow sale for the owner. Sellers who chose the FSBO route often end up with their home being on the market for much longer than it should be.
